How is the first week of the semester?

Satu minggu pertama telah berlalu.. dan dah pun start bertimbun2 exercise kat atas meja aku.. campur kat email.. Takut rasa nak buka email.. terkejut tgk bnyk sgt dlm inbox... Checking??.. Wait until saturday la.. tak sanggup nak bersengkang otak tgk jawapan diaorg.. Takut nanti *fainted* tgk jawapan.. Hari ni hari yang free yeay! smlm mmg dasyat.. kelas dari kol 10 - 6 ptg.. Budget nak puasa tapi tak takyah la weii.. Silap2 nmpk semua kepala student cam bulat2 yang membentuk donut..Iman senipis kulit bawang.. Like onion slice haha bole gitu..

So smlm I ask the students to answer this question..
Develop an algorithm for the robot /computer to cross the road at the zebra crossing with traffic light.

Asnwer:
So firstly the robot must go in front of the road.. Near the sidewalks.. Then the robot scan.. "Oh there is a traffic light".. Then scan the color of the traffic light:

If  (traffic light color == red)
     then push the button and wait until it goes green

If (traffic light color == green)
     then the robot can move

If (traffic light color == yellow)
    then the robot should ready to speed up..

And then everybody was laughing.. Typical malaysian robot.. It is so funny and I never thought of this. Usually it was a boring answer.. For example just wait until it turns green and then u can walk.. So the answer this time is different and I can see that they have really good imagination.. They really think of something in details.. Starting from move until u find a sidewalk until the robot scan the button.. Scan the colours.. Haha hilarious..That's why it's great to become a teacher.. Seeing students is one powerful way to make ur day! I have a blast time with them..

Some of them can't wait for their labs.. Keep asking me when we can do our first programming?.. Ok tomorrow is the day when u can make ur first program.. They were like Yeay!!!! Ok.. I never face this situation before haha.. Let see tomorrow how they will work out with python.. Python is one of the programming language..No GUI bebeh..

Best day

I have to teach the students that are going to fly to oversea for this semester and I havent get a chance to meet them individually.. And after meeting them today whoaaa they are so different.. They are active, super bright and really love to express their thought and opinion.. This is like a new experience to me.. Well, I guess it's a good experience after all. Perhaps I will learn something from them as they also learn something from me.. At a very young age, they already trying to do C and C++ and they even know about cryptography, md5 hash..

They also bring their laptop in the lecture hall.. but they are not using it for entertainment only. If I was explaining on historical of computer science, they will trying to find more information about the topics.. Sometimes they were not agree with the contents; they will say it and justify the reason.. Which is cool because it's challenging.. It open up my mind..

and today is holiday.. they were going to the book fair!! cool huh.. Who wants to go to the bookfair on holiday?.. But they are all super nice, humble and very cooperative.. I will certainly know that I will miss them after they fly..


So all of my students take this as a challenge.. You should not take it easy when it comes to learning.. Find information that is around u all of the time and don't just study because you want to get Perfect A.. Study because u want to fill up your knowledge.. I love you guys so much..

For the second best thing that happen to me today is my student status..

September 2011.. Insya Allah will be my convocation day.. Just got the senate letter today..

New Trimester.

Tomorrow a new semester will begin again.. It's not like I didn't feel excited.. It just I just have a 5 days holiday before this make going to work is the last thing on my mind.. Certain people feel happy to go to work again after a long holiday but maybe not for me.. Because dlm masa 5 hari tu I still went to UNITEN, answering phone call, answering emails.. I dont know what will happen to my inbox if I didn't check my email each day.. So still feeling tired..

Dont get me wrong.. I love my job so muchhh.. Since I know I'm good in teaching, I know this is the thing that I always want to do.. I just hope I have a fresh start tomorrow..

Ehem ehem let start again.. Dear students, welcome to Universiti Tenaga Nasional.. I hope you guys will study hard for my class and try not to fail in my class..I am so happy to teach you new things and hopefully can make u one of the greatest person one day. Be prepared and try to think like a university students..

baru je habis membusykan diri jumaat lepas dgn deco jamuan hari raya COIT.. fuhhh semuanya berjalan lancar akhirnya.. Just hope everybody had fun.. yelah kita organizer tak mengharapkan apa2 selain kepuasan dan kegembiraan orang2 yang dtg.. and had a busy week so minggu depan 6-8hb aku akan bercuti dan main game.. bahagiaaaaa. Then, just get my result.. i think sesuai lah dgn apa yang aku dah buat sepanjang tahun.. rasa cam main2 jek.. arghh tahun depan hopefully dpt yang lagi baik,.. My job requirements is not as hard as others.. so please la rina.. perform okay!! Tapi tulah next year kalau dpt upgrade jadi lect, requirement dah naik la plak.. kan dah susah nak capai x mcm tutor nye scope... Sape suruh aku tak bersungguh2 kan.. Walaupun begitu aku gembira sbb akhirnya dah habis master walaupun pada mulanya aku rasa tak mgkn aku bole abis. and luckily selama ni aku bayar fees tepat pada waktu so hutang aku yang last sekali untuk sem ni tinggal rm515.00 and telah pun dilangsaikan tadi.. Yeay dah boleh konvo dgn senang hati!! Takyah pk nak bayar pape dah..

This month and next month mmg penuh dgn undangan pertunangan n perkahwinan.. and kali ni semuanya melibatkan my best buddies..

Sebelum ni kalau yang nak tunang ke kawin bukanla best friends.. so tak rasa excited.. kali ni cam semua nya rakan terapat..  Dpt amik berkat bnyk sikit dari korang okey..Really2 tak sabar nak pergi engagement and kenduri kawin korang.. And dpt la aku pergi ke majlis sambil bercuti2 malaysia kejap.. Tapi tak dpt la beli pape sgt.. tgk jelah yang mampu.. Lainla gaji aku rm25000.00.. Barulah jalan2 sambil ambik je apa aku suka

to many things to be grateful for..

One the best time in my life is I think when I work as RA.. I have wonderful friends and we still keep in touch with each other until now. and one of the best thing is most of us now have the job that we dreamt of.. Rozi dah jadi lecturer, Huda dah kerja as PTD, niza pun dah kat govt sector (MAMPU), lim has become a tutor and aku pun dah jadi tutor. The best thing is, alhamdulillah we reach our dream. But it's not just plain lucky. We really work our a** off.

As for me, when all of my friends have been hired and get really high pay, I still work as RA to further my study and received really low pay ok.. but the important thing is I know this is the path that I want to take. If not dah lama lari kot.. sometimes akan rasa down sbb your friends ada yang dah kerja title best2.. ada yang dah naik gaji..

So kalau ada org rasa sesetengah org tu mcm mudah je dpt apa yg diaorg nak. well I guess it's not true.. We have to sacrifice a lot of things to make it happen.. but if believe in yourself , you will MAKE it happen, Insya Allah.

Hari Raya 2010

Raya tahun ni.. balik jb dulu.. so dok umah alang aku and first day raya.. tak pakai baju raya pun.. sbb dok lepak kat umah je.. so no point pun nak pakai baju raya.. so ni lah jadual raya tahun ni:

Sgt miss jb tapi raya2 balik jb cam balik bandar so takde la gambar2 sanak saudara mcm tahun2 lepas... aku pun pakai baju raya bila dah raya kelima..lain suma pakai jeans.. Tapi balik kali ni semua org ckp dah kurus.. aku cam iye ke? amek hati je korang kan?.. padahal bulan puasa satu kg pun tak turun.. tapi ina ckp ada org berat tak turun tapi badan jadi lebih kurus.. entahla.. tapi i ske hik hik.. So masa kat jusco tu singgah la lavender,, then ternmpk roti colour hitam

Then as a tradition every year mesti pegi swiss garden resort.. so lepak sana dua hari.. sambil2 pergi umah sedara mara.. Depan hotel ada la laut yang ala2 selamat.. then pergilah mandi with my sister.. dia yang gatal nak pergi laut.. I have trauma to swim at sea even though takdela pengalaman buruk pun.. tapi cam takut.. so dok la kat tepi tu sambil ombak main pukul2.. and I'm still scared..pastu bnyk umah anak2 ketam and ada anak2 ketam yang cuba nak gigit2.. and membuatkan aku terus nak balik dan dan tu jugak.. tapi nabilah berdegil.. tp aku blah gak lantak kau la di situ.. pastu dia buat2 jadi batu kat depan laut.. ada gak kena sepak ngan aku kang.. aku pun lepak la lagi.. Cis hati yang terlalu berlembut.. aku bukan apa.. kang ada yang hilang kat laut kang memang sah sah aku kena gulai ngan mak aku nanti.. (gambar2 tak diambil kerana dua2 nak men air and camera bukanla kalis air sgt)..

Pastu last day baru la pergi umah tok wan.. oh rindu nye pada kg halaman.. Tapi tak amik gambar gak sbb sibuk nak bergossip ngan sanak sedara.. Then mlmnya aku terus balik kl.. Then dpt surat.. ni.. card bonuslink yang baru dah sampai

Passport to a greener world

Untuk selamatkan temengor forest.. This is the only small piece of thing that I can do for my world.. Selalu emo dgn org yang tebang pokok.. And hopefully InsyaAllah after this akan collaborate with one of the professor to make something in making the computer more friendly with the environment.. in making green computing..

I always believe in karma.. We make the world more greener, we will save the animals habitat and the animal itself, and we will get something in return, fresh water to drink ( from the mountain), fresh food to eat(it is better to eat ayam yang berlari2 kat kg dari ayam cucuk kat bandar).. and we can breathe the fresh air.. So help save the world!!!

One of my wishlist for this year that I want to accomplish is to finish my research.. There are a lot of things that I want to achieve this year and hopefully boleh finish on time everything. But I thing the most important things yang I want to do first is to finish this thing - my seed fund-. I suppose to start on June hari tu and sampai skrg tak buat apa significant nye progress. Well this is a part of being a good lecturer I guess. You have to make so many work, research, write up thesis, journal, article, googling to make sure you teach them the right thing, the latest technology/architecture. You give them the best answer and not just teaching blindly. I have worked part time at this college before and the lecturer just taught based on the notes. Not even referred to any books. I was like shocked. How can you do that? Can u just understand based on the notes. But they all think I am too hardworking to read the books and referred sampai dlm internet just to teach one chapter.


Aku cam ahh tak kisahla janji aku mengajar dgn baik and I ask my senior lecturer, betulkah we dont need to refer to any books.. based on notes pun dah mencukupi and he said no.. when you are a tutor you have to read all the books and all the reference you can get. When you are a lecturer, you can read from books and some from internet, when you are senior lect, you can just refer things dlm buku sikit2 and internet, when you are prof or prof madya you can just bring marker to the class.. everything in your head allready.. hehe.. I was like emm betul jugak kot.. sbb when you are a tutor, kita bukan la terror sgt untuk tau everything.. Apa yang kita cater dari yang kita belajar cuma basic part jek..


So hopefully by end of this year I will accomplish this one mission. Pray for me

semester baru

Phew!! baru 2 minggu semester start.. hidup dah balik kelam kabut balik.. mana nak layan past2 student.. nak buat course file untuk last semester punya pengajaran.. Sumpah aku ingat jadi lecturer tu senang abis dah.. bnyk nak mati kerja.. hari2 balik mlm.. rupanya kerja bukan la setakat teaching je.. dlm masa yg sama kena buat research balik.. kena ada project sendiri.. kena supervise project student.. kena pergi lawat student training.. tambah lagi kalau kena ada advisor advisee day.. kena amik student jadi anak angkat.. pelbagai lah!.. ni ialah satu cara untuk jadikan korang manusia berguna ok!.. so jgn asyik nak memonteng kalau nak jumpa lect..

Tp sem ni dpt student fresh from school.. so masih lagi takleh adapt dgn cara universiti belajar.. where takde lagi spoon feeding.. belajar mendengar arahan sekali.. lepas tu instruction ikut nota.. dan belajar sendiri.. so far adalah yg boleh and ada jugak yg tak.. cam biasala.. but kesian gak diaorg sbb this sem adalah dekat 3 tahun i have been teaching and as usual lect akan jadi lebih kejam dan tegas biasanya lepas lebih lama mengajar.. awal2 baik giler.. not to say diaorg pijak kepala tapi diaorg akan tend to submit assignment lmbt.. sbb lect baik.. so nasib le diaorg.. mgkn good opportunity for them to belajar respect the deadline.. yelah nanti dah kerja.. ingat bole suka2 hantar kerja bila2 masa korang suka ke.. tidak2.. mmg ada harapan nak kena fired la tak lama lagi..

but this sem ada satu program baru.. nak buat atom campus.. where the lecturer akan ambik budak2 ni n jadi cam their mom kat universiti so that bole mengadu kalau ada masalah.. and jangan bg diaorg terpengaruh dgn seniors kerana mereka ini masih lagi rebung ye.. masih hijau.. belum jadi buluh k... so lebih baik dgr ckp mak dari senior korang yg dah mula tak lulus sbb asyik memonteng..

So studentku selamat datang ke semester baru!!!!

minggu malas

diam tak diam dah 8 bulan dah kerja kat uniten.. dan isnin n selasa lepas ialah the first time aku amik cuti.. sbbnya setiap kali nak cuti pun aku akan terfikir yang aku akan ke UNITEN jugak.. So apakah maknanya kalau aku amik cuti sekali pun.. tapi atas desakan yang tercinta yg mengatakan pergila amik cuti.. jadi aku gagahi jua mengisi borang cuti.. tapi takde maknanya aku tetap gak pergi UNITEN..

tapi bebaru ni ialah hari2 yang paling malas dlm hidup aku.. entah kenapa.. tapi rasanya semua org dah membiarkan aku melangut agak lama..so aku akan berubah mulai esok.. tak nak dah buang masa lagi.. nak bgn awal g kerja.. g kerja pun tak nak dah main2.. lagipun next week dah start kelas balik.. ish korang ni cuti la lagi.. dan pada semester ni.. aku ada satu je kelas tapi ada 6 lab... Yahoo!!! aku paling suka ajar lab.. sbb takyah bebel2 kat depan.. ajar sikit2.. and biar je diaorg buat latihan.. bahagia nye..

dan pada minggu ini juge saya dgn yg tercinta pergi naik lrt together for the first time.. dah lama giler merancang tapi sbb memasing sibuk so minggu ni jelah baru dpt pergi.. itupun pukul 8.30 mlm baru nak kuar.. pergila sogo.. dgn sogo pun dah nak tutup.. takpela asalkan dpt jalan2.. sempat la gak membeli kasut dan baju.. tapi aku mmg agak musykil kenapa sogo selalu sale.. sepanjang aku practical kat bank negara dulu tiap2 jumaat pergi sogo.. mmg sale memanjang.. korang mmg jualan murah sepanjang hari ke apa..then pergila jalan2 kat jalan tar.. tapi sbb sume dah nak tutup maka kami pk lebih baik la balik.. sblm kitaorg tinggal sorang2 sbb semua org pun dah nak balik..

jadi nye minggu ini berakhir tanpa pancapaian.. dan di hari ahad2 mlm ni aku bosan kan diri main game.. sbb esok konon2nya nak mulakan hari baru.. tgk la nanti.. org putih kata wait and see...

busy week

Today I had finished my writing.. It was amazing. I've had four months to finished it but I still have to sent it to my supervisor so that he can check on it. Because I do it in just like two weeks so I'm thinking there must be something wrong on it haha.. well just wait and see..

This week is supposed to be the relaxing week.. But I'm tired due to lots of committees work but I do enjoy every moment working here.. that is the greatest thing about doing something you really love.. is that you enjoy every moment in it.

Sometimes I go through bumpy road but this is the road that I had chosen and I'm going to get myself to go through it.. Next week I have the teaching and learning course.. something like pedagogi.. Every lecturer must take this course to teach.. so much to do with so little time..

I have to visit my student who have taking industrial training.. I hate it because the area is a busy area..ampang and cheras.. ble tak rasa takut nak g visit sbb mcm aku plak yg nak g interview kat company tu.. padahal takde kaitan pun.. Haha still remember time nak dpt kerja.. I went to lots of places for interview.. really not an easy thing for me.. the first time interview mmg rasa takyah pergi la.. biarla forever takde kerja haha but luckily i went for every interview and i really gain experience from each of the company that I go. huhu

ITEX 2010

There is news that I want to share about UNITEN.. UNITEN had entered ITEX which is the international invention, innovation and technology exhibition. Out of 25 entries that UNITEN had participate, we have won 24 entries.. wow.. but dlm kedudukan 10 teratas kita telah mendapat tmpt ke 3

Today I just knew how talented my students are.. Always ask them to think outside the box.. and they really done it.. so so proud of them. They really worked hard for their class and asg.. only segelintir jelah yg mcm menyakitkan hati.. didn't want to come to class and tak buat kerja.. Other than that diaorg sgt2 baik dan menghormati.. Really2 grateful that all of them are my students..

hah hari ni plak tetiba kena visit student industrial training.. first time.. pelbagai perasaan ada.. takut + pening.. coz I know I always sesat jalan.. even though tmpt visit tu tak jauh pun kat ampang ngan cheras je.. coz this is first time maka sgt cuak.. there always the first time for everything.. tapi nak melepasinya selalu rasa takut.. then what should i do first, contact the supervisor or the students.. baru je nak lepak2 lepas dah habis kelas sem ni.. nak focus buat thesis nye correction.

ahh tak tau dah nak tulis apa.. bnyk benda yg mengganggu fikiran hari ni..
